The food at the restaurant is excellent. As for the rooms in the motel portion, they are basic but adequate for a one or two night stay. No fridge, microwave or desk. The walls are also pretty thin as well so keep that in mind if you are a light sleeper. Trail Lake Lodge has a great atmosphere. It's not a crazy dive bar, they have great events (summer solstice is a MUST here), they really care for their patrons. Their pool table is really kept up well and never crowded. The bartender is great at her job, friendly, and loves talking if you want to. Overall friendly atmosphere and a really high class place for a town of 200! I would rate at zero if possible. My wife and i wanted a nice evening out of town. We un mfortunately chose this place. The room was $120... there was no hot water for showers, not even luke warm water, there is no fridge or phone in the room either. The walls are paper thin so plan on hearing your neighbors bathroom activities. In the morning when we notified the desk we were unable to shower, they were like "oh no what room #?" Instead of reducing the rate. We tried their resturaunt and was given a runny omelett that had more Velveeta slices that egg.... we didnt even take a bite. The staff is nice and the location is pretty convenient to the highway. But, the beds were uncomfortable and we didn't get a double bed. Instead we got two twins. We were too exhausted to make mention of it. Then again, the paper reservation said double beds, not two twin beds, which in the hotel world is a huge difference. Lodge is in beautiful location. Has nice rooms. Has a great restaurant with large meals.
